In terms of time and convenience our resort is closer to Bangkok than you may think. You can reach our resort by plane in half the time it would take you to drive to Hua Hin – a one hour flight and a five minute drive to the doorsteps of our resort.
Alternatively, Chumphon is still within driving distance from Bangkok, should you opt to bring your own vehicle. Numerous buses and minibuses frequent convenient drop-off points in the area from where we can pick you up.

BY CAR
• Our resort is approximately 460km from Bangkok. • Given favourable traffic conditions you can manage the drive within 6 hours but you may want to add some breaks along the way. • It pays to avoid Bangkok rush hours in the morning and afternoon, especially on Fridays when many local drivers head for the south towards Hua Hin. • Follow the main highway 4/ AH2 southbound. Since our resort is located north of Chumphon, it is not necessary to drive all the way into the city. Take a left at 3201 towards the general direction of the airport and follow the road to Sara Resort as marked in the Google map above. -
BY BUS
• Buses depart from the Southern Bus Terminal (Sai Tai Mai). • Tickets can be purchased at the terminal. • Cost approx. 350-410 Baht one way. • Time to reach Chumphon approx. 8 hours -
BY TRAIN
• Whether heading south (from the Bangkok area) or north (from the Surat Thani area), please take the train to the Pathiu Station. This station is 5 minutes away from the resort. There is a stop in the city of Chumphon, but this is about 45 minutes away.
• If you call ahead of time I will do everything I can to pick you up at the Pathiu station. Otherwise, you can arrange a shuttle for about 100 baht.
We can arrange for an unforgettable day trip on a boat to visit the local coral reefs even as a non-scuba diver. Discover lush anemone fields filled with hundreds of clown fish, colorful butterflyfish dancing across the reef and amazing displays of table and staghorn corals. Diving around Chumphon offers you world class dive sites without the hordes of dive boats you encounter in the Andaman Sea or off Ko Tao. The reef are amongst the healthiest you will find in the Gulf of Thailand and the wreck of the HTMS Prab (sunk in 2011) adds the excitement of wreck diving to this area. In season you will easily encounter a visibility of 30m on a regular day.
Khao Dinsor is one of the mountains that frame the western side of the bay where our resort is located at. And it is also one of the world's most sought after places for bird watching! During the migration season of raptors flying south (September & October) up to 500,000 raptors of at least 25 species make Khao Dinsor their stop-over. A visitor's center and observation platform have recently been erected for enthusiasts of this truly unique spectacle. Text
